Help bring this program back

Pop-Up Pub Theatre is between coordinators and between venues. Bardello, our long-time home, has closed; we're looking for both a new coordinator and a new venue.

If you're a member who would like to revive the pop-up nights — or a venue who'd like to host them — get in touch via the contact page. The archive of past nights is still here, and when the format returns it'll pick up where it left off.

Past stewards

  • Founder, currently on break

Pop-Up Pub Theatre is a low-stakes, high-trust space for short pieces written and performed by BATS members.

Rules of the room:

  • Sketches run 2 to 12 minutes.
  • Bring your own writers, directors, and performers.
  • Secure any necessary rights before you book a slot.
  • The compère keeps the night on time.
  • The room is the audience; the audience is friends.

Pop-Up Pub Theatre was created by Ren Powell, who built the format and ran it for years. Ren is currently on a break from BATS; the program persists with her as its founding steward while we look for a coordinator to revive the nights.

No pop-up nights scheduled right now.

Past pop-up nights will appear here as the archive is imported.
